Family Matters In Focus

ChildWhat services are available?

Family Matters Infocus provides faith-based Christian counseling and training services. We also provide mediation services for divorce, church conflict and work related conflict issues.

Can I get help right now?
Yes. We are available as you read this! Family Matters provides counseling services to persons like you conveniently and many flexible hours.  See the days and times available on the "Hour of Operation" page.  609.577.5848.

Address: 1244 W.Farms Road, Howell, NJ 07731

How do I acquire services?
Simply call: 1-609.577.5848

Are these services professional?
Yes. Dr. Brady McDaniels has extensive training as a Relationship, Child and Family Therapist.  You can view his credentials and experience on the home page.  At no time will you be transferred to another clinician without your knowledge in advance.

Are there limits to my confidentiality?
In most states it is necessary for a counselor to breach confidentiality if a client is considered an immediate threat to him/herself or others. Also, a counselor is mandated to report any disclosed information regarding the abuse of a minor, handicapped, or elderly person. In some instances client files have been subpoenaed, from mental health professionals, by a court of law.

Is this a crisis line?
Though many of the persons who call our service are in a state of crisis, a crisis line is a non-professional service. Family Matters provides professional training/counseling services, and strives to build a client-counselor relationship with each of our callers. This means, unlike a crisis line, a client can schedule to conference with Dr. McDaniels every time he/she calls

What if I am Suicidal?
This is NOT an appropriate service if you are currently battling with thoughts of, or considering, suicide. Help is available however! Call 1-800-SUICIDE for immediate assistance, or call 9-1-1 to contact your LOCAL authorities. People in your area will be best equipped to provide affective treatment, if you are suicidal.

Will I have a counseling file?
Depending on what type of help you choose (one time intervervention or a on-going counseling relationship).  A record will be kept of all conversations and at the end of the conversation you can have a copy of the internet dialogue for your records. We keep a copy for our records as well.

How do I purchase services?
Services can be pre-purchased on our website.  We are set up with paypal. We accept most major credit cards.

Will my insurance pay for these services?

Very possibly: Although we do not contract with insurance companies. A statement of services is provided upon request.  Given the low payment scale it is unlikely that you would be reimbursed.

Family Matters provides you, the client, full access to your client file (upon request), and your counselor's credentials so that you may submit these documents in pursuit of insurance reimbursement.

To begin the process, contact your insurance company via the phone number located on your insurance card. If there are multiple numbers, call the number designated "mental health." Speak with a representative for details on submitting a reimbursement claim.

Note: applying for insurance reimbursement means your insurance company will have access to very personal information; information that would be otherwise confidential. One may wish to weigh the benefits against the costs before filing an insurance claim.
